China has issued an outline to improve the overall quality of its economy amid efforts to promote high-quality development.The country aims to boost its strength in quality and steadily increase the influence of Chinese brands by 2025, according to the document jointly issued by the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the State Council.

近日，中共中央、国务院印发了《质量强国建设纲要》。《纲要》称，建设质量强国是推动高质量发展的重要举措。《纲要》提出，到2025年，质量整体水平进一步全面提高，中国品牌影响力稳步提升。

Over the year, we have fully implemented the new development philosophy, adhered to the general principle of pursuing progress while ensuring stability, fully implemented the requirements for keeping the epidemic at bay, stabilizing the economy and ensuring safe development, and accelerated the efforts to foster a new development pattern and pursue high-quality development. We have maintained economic growth, achieved a bumper harvest of grain, kept employment and prices stable, and firmly ensured people's well-being. We have also consolidated our gains in poverty elimination, made one achievement after another in the fields of sci-tech innovation, kept improving the ecological environment, taken solid steps to modernize the national defense and the armed forces, made further efforts to exercise full and rigorous governance over the Party, and maintained overall social stability.

一年来，我们全面贯彻新发展理念，坚持稳中求进工作总基调，全面落实疫情要防住、经济要稳住、发展要安全的要求，加快构建新发展格局，着力推动高质量发展，经济保持增长，粮食喜获丰收，就业物价基本稳定，民生保障扎实，脱贫攻坚成果不断巩固，科技成果捷报频传，生态环境持续改善，国防和军队现代化迈出坚实步伐，全面从严治党深入推进，社会大局保持稳定。

High-quality development is the route that the Chinese economy must take during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period, and high-quality development of the equipment manufacturing industry is the top priority.

高质量发展是“十四五”时期我国经济发展的必由之路，装备制造业高质量发展更是重中之重。
